A quick guide for anyone who meets an elephant.

African elephants have ears shaped a bit like Africa, and Indian elephants have smaller ears shaped a bit like India. It’s roughly right, too: African elephants have much bigger ears, which help them keep cool. Elephants from Sri Lanka, Thailand and the rest of Asia aren’t covered by this guide and will have to make their own arrangements.
