Terrible Maps began in 2015 as a small cartographic mistake that spiralled far beyond its original intention. What started as a joke turned into a global audience of people who enjoy seeing the world mapped in ways it was never meant to be.

The project grew because people responded to the simple idea of taking geography a little less seriously.
